Sealed proposals are invited for the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment necessary for the construction project titled "Nash CI: Replace Obsolete Fire Alarm System (Phase II)" at 2869 US 64 ALT, Nashville, NC 27856. Bids will be received for a single prime contract and all proposals must be submitted as lump sum. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders at Nash Correctional Institution. Attendance is required for bid eligibility. Complete plans, specifications, and contract documents are available for inspection in designated offices and online plan rooms. Qualified prime bidders may obtain documents upon a $150 deposit, refundable if documents are returned in usable condition within the specified period. Each bid must include the Identification of Minority Business Participation form and either Affidavit A or B, as applicable. Failure to complete these forms is grounds for bid rejection. General contractors must have the proper North Carolina license classification for Intermediate or Unlimited as required under state law. For single prime contracts involving multiple trades, the contractor must hold a proper General Contractors license unless the value of general construction does not exceed 25% of the total value, in which case properly licensed trade contractors may serve as single prime contractor. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 5% of the proposal amount, either as a cash deposit, certified check, or bid bond from a licensed surety company. A performance bond and payment bond for 100% of the contract price will be required. Payment will be made based on 95% of monthly estimates with final payment upon completion and acceptance. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 days after the scheduled closing time. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
