Sealed bids are requested for all tools, labor, and materials necessary to complete the work required for the 1st Street Reconstruction project, which consists of removal and replacement of approximately 2,600 square yards of concrete pavement, curb ramps, replacing manhole rings and covers, adjusting manholes and valves, sodding, and erosion control. Qualified contractors must obtain the plans, specifications, and contract documents from the City Engineer's office. All work must conform to the City of Fremont's Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction and the project-specific Special Provisions; Special Provisions take precedence in case of conflict. Contractors must commence work as soon as practical after contract execution, starting on or after May 25, 2026, and complete the work on or before August 17, 2026, or within 35 working days of commencing construction, whichever is sooner. Failure to achieve substantial completion within the contract time will result in liquidated damages of $500.00 per working day. Digital copies of documents can be obtained by emailing the office of the Civil Engineer; hard copies require a non-refundable deposit.
