The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia on behalf of Augusta University is seeking statements of qualifications from firms interested in providing design-build services for the "AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY MAXWELL PERFORMING ARTS THEATRE REFRESH" project at Augusta University, Augusta, Georgia. This solicitation aims to identify potential providers of these services. Firms determined to be especially qualified by the Owner may be invited to interview and offer proposals. All respondents must follow the instructions in the solicitation carefully. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all statements of qualifications or proposals, as well as to waive technicalities and informalities at their discretion. Pre-Bid Meeting 06/02/2026 at 10:00 AM ET A Mandatory Pre Bid conference will be held at Maxwell Theatre- 2500 Walton Way, AUGUSTA, GA 30904 The Project shall include the replacement and installation of new theatre seating throughout the facility to improve safety, comfort, accessibility, and the long-term service life of the venue. Rear seating areas should be modified to provide ADA-compliant seating accommodation in accordance with applicable accessibility codes and standards. Existing seating risers shall be upgraded to include new finish materials, aisle lighting, handrails, and updated nosing details. Aisle lighting shall be coordinated with the selected seating manufacturer/vendor where feasible. New flooring and interior paint finishes shall be provided throughout the theatre patron seating area only. Work under this Project shall exclude the stage, back-of-house spaces, lobby areas, and restroom facilities. The Project shall also include the installation of an accessibility code-compliant handrail extending from the top of the stage elevation to the bottom of the thrust stage level to provide ambulatory access. Additionally, new sound diffusion panels should be furnished and installed at the rear of the theatre to improve acoustic performance.
