The Town of Manchester Water Department requests proposals from qualified contractors for a comprehensive leak detection survey of the water distribution system. The scope includes locating leaks in mains, services, and appurtenances with the goal of minimizing non-revenue water, guiding targeted repairs, and enhancing overall system reliability. The survey will help identify and prioritize hidden leaks to reduce water losses, support necessary repairs, and improve the efficiency of the water distribution infrastructure, which serves approximately 60,000 residents and includes roughly 280 miles of water mains, ten storage tanks, five booster pumping stations, about 16,500 domestic service lines, around 1,047 fire/irrigation services, and approximately 2,500 fire hydrants. Average daily delivery is about 5 million gallons. Contractors should be prepared to work within this large, mixed-age system with a focus on infrastructure dating back decades and prone to corrosion, breaks, and leaks.
