Description of Work: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services necessary to construct a prefabricated modular ISO 7 clean room by fabricator Clean Rooms West, LLC, or approved equal, within existing Room 2332 in Broida Hall located on the main campus on the University of California, Santa Barbara. The clean room shall include HEPA filtration, clear vinyl curtain walls, a panelized ceiling system, and new LED lighting. Contractor shall be responsible for all aspects of coordination of the prefabricated modular ISO 7 clean room, including submitting design documents to the University for approval prior to authorizing fabrication and commencing installation work, preparing the space to receive the prefabricated system and coordinating with fabricator all aspects of fabrication scheduling, quality control and construction including lighting fixtures, and coring of panelized systems for fire sprinkler. All clean room systems shall be designed and installed as fully functional, code-compliant systems, seamlessly integrated with existing building. The Work includes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing improvements to support the new clean room, including a new desiccant dehumidifier, booster cooling coil, booster pump, associated ductwork, controls, electrical connections, and gas piping. Additionally, the work includes installing required signage, performing minor wall surface repairs and painting, and modifying existing lighting. Deferred submittals and associated approvals are required for the fire alarm modifications (mass notification) and the automatic fire extinguishing system that shall be designed and constructed by the Contractor. Contractor shall modify and extend the existing fire sprinkler system and fire alarm system as required to support the laboratory renovation. Work shall include, but is not limited to, providing all necessary adjustments, additions, and coordination with existing life-safety systems. *prebid meeting: Only attendees at the original pre-bid conference will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the University Representative. In person attendees are advised that there may be traffic congestion and parking may be difficult. Bidders should allow ample time to drive to the above location in heavy traffic, find a parking space, walk to the building, and arrive in the designated meeting room prior to the required time. Any prospective Bidder arriving after the above designated starting time may be disqualified from submitting a bid for this project Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).
