Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Burlington, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
This project includes streetscape improvements along Front Street from its intersection with Main Street to Spring Street, and along Spring Street from Front Street to Webb Avenue. The work consists of comprehensive roadway and pedestrian enhancements, including sidewalk reconstruction and widening, upgraded curb and gutter, ADA-compliant ramps, and improved crosswalks to promote accessibility and pedestrian safety. Additional improvements include streetscape elements such as decorative paving, landscaping, street trees, pedestrian-scale lighting, and street furnishings to create an inviting and cohesive urban environment. The project also includes stormwater management upgrades, utility coordination and adjustments, and associated infrastructure improvements necessary to support long-term functionality and resilience. This redevelopment effort is intended to revitalize the downtown streetscape, improve connectivity, and support continued economic growth in the City of Burlington. This project is funded in part by the North Carolina Department of Commerce through the Rural Transformation Grant Fund. Contractors must comply with all applicable State and local laws and grant agreement requirements. The project's tentative schedule is to begin construction in June 2026 and final completion in December 2026 Contractors must comply with all applicable State and local laws and grant agreement requirements. Bidders shall attend a mandatory pre-bid conference. Prospective Bidders may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office, and partial sets will not be available. All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid made payable to the Owner. The bid deposit shall be retained by the Owner if the successful bidder fails to execute contracts or fails to provide the required bonds within ten days after proper notice of award. All bids shall be submitted using bid forms contained in the Contract Documents. Incomplete or segregated bids will not be accepted. Bidders are responsible for ensuring receipt of their bid by the stated date and time and for the review and acknowledgement of any addenda issued for the project.
