This work involves placing pavement markings on various city streets; removing and replacing curb and sidewalk; constructing some new sidewalk and repairing some existing pavement. The unit price submitted shall include all equipment, materials, labor, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as described in the contract documents. Bids must be submitted in duplicate, in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the project name. All proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guaranty not less than 5% of the bid amount, which may be in the form of a Bid Bond or cashier’s check. The successful bidder will be required to submit a Contract Bond equal to 100% of the contract amount and proof of insurance listing the City of Geneva, Illinois as Additionally Insured. All bidders must pay prevailing wages in Kane County, Illinois to all employees and suppliers performing work under this contract. Two complete copies of the bid must be submitted. Quantities in the summary are approximate and for comparison only. Payment will be made for in-place quantities and work completed and accepted, and/or for materials furnished and used for the project according to the contract. Quantities of work to be done and materials furnished may be increased, decreased, or omitted as provided. Submission of a bid is assurance and warranty that the bidder has examined the plans and specifications, visited the site, and understands all requirements for work performance. The bidder is responsible for all errors and omissions in their bid package, including those resulting from failure to examine the site, plans, and specifications. The City will not be responsible for any costs, expenses, losses, or changes in anticipated profits resulting from errors or omissions. The bidder shall not take advantage of any errors or omissions in the bid documents. Bidders may withdraw their proposal with a written or in-person request before the scheduled opening. The contractor must certify that they are not in violation of, nor have been convicted for a violation of, the Illinois Public Construction Act. The City of Geneva, Illinois reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive technicalities.
