The scope of work is to remove and demolish the existing roof and install a new roofing system at MLGW's North Service Center, Building 2, located at 1060 Tupelo St., Memphis, TN 38108. The selected contractor shall include in their total lump sum cost all labor, material, equipment, and insurance needed to complete the work in strict accordance with the contract documents, specifications, and drawings. Instructions to bidders specify that all sealed bids, qualifications, and completed bid envelopes (in duplicate) must be submitted by the deadline to the Contracts Management Office. All bidders must be licensed contractors per Title 62, Chapter 6, of the Tennessee Code Annotated, and must complete the required information on the outside of the preprinted bid envelope (name, license number, expiration date, and classification). The mandatory site visit is at the project location at the specified date and time. Qualifications must be submitted by reference letter as outlined and indicate the contract number and project name. All documentation required for Local Bidding Preference or Local Bidding Presence must be included with the qualifications if claimed. If the bid amount is under $25,000, the phrase “Exempt from licensing requirement” must appear in the Tennessee License number space on the preprinted bid envelope, but other required information must be completed. Only hard copies of bid documents will be accepted. Bids received after the due date will not be accepted. Before execution of the contract, the successful bidder must provide a performance bond in an amount equal to 100% of the bid price (or as determined by MLGW) and a labor and materials payment bond of at least 25% of the bid price. All bonds must be through a surety company authorized to do business in Tennessee.
