Requests for clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents must be in writing and received by Tuesday, May 20, no later than 4:00pm. Description of Work: The Valley Terraces Fan Coil project is a multi-year project that includes full replacement of existing fan coil units in Valley Terraces. The work must be performed during the summer while the buildings are vacant. The work includes removing the existing fan coils, procurement and installation of an exact replacement. Each summer will include replacement of approximately 36-38 fan coils for a total of 4 summers. The chosen contractor will need to work with the campus building official, as well as UC Merced's Auxiliary Facility project management team to complete all work and have all permits completed prior to housing move-in for each year The project is a multi-year effort involving the full replacement of existing fan coil units in Valley Terraces. The work is to be performed during the summer when the buildings are vacant. This includes removal of existing fan coils, procurement, and installation of exact replacements. Each summer, approximately 36-38 fan coils will be replaced, over a total of 4 summers. The contractor must coordinate with the campus building official and the Auxiliary Facility project management team to complete all work and obtain permits before housing move-in each year. The successful bidder must hold a current and active California contractor's license (B or C-20) at the time of bid submission and comply with all relevant labor, non-discrimination, and fair wage requirements. The project is a public work subject to prevailing wage and Department of Industrial Relations compliance monitoring and enforcement. Pre-Bid Meeting 04/16/2026 at 10:00 AM PT Contract Time: 307 days a. Phase 1 - 75 days b. Phase 2 - 75 days c. Phase 3 - 75 days d. Phase 4 - 82 days A. Scope of Work: The work to be done includes all labor, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install all materials and equipment shown on the drawings and described herein and to perform tests described herein, to provide complete and operating systems to the extent specified and shown on the Drawings. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, material and supplies, except where specifically noted as existing or as supplied by The University. The University is the Regents of the University of California. B. The Valley Terraces Fan Coil Replacement project will replace the fan coil units in Valley Terraces over four years. Contractor shall provide all labor and materials needed to remove the existing fan coil units, purchase and install an exact replacement of the existing unit. a) Phase 1: Merced and Calaveras Halls - total of 38 fan coils b) Phase 2: Tulare and Kern Halls - total of 38 fan coils c) Phase 3: Kings and Madera Halls - total of 38 fan coils d) Phase 4: San Joaquin, Fresno and Stanislaus Halls - total of 36 fan coils 1.2 PROJECT PHASING A. Work Phases: Contractor shall provide complete work in a four phases over the course of 4 years. a) Phase 1 - May 25, 2026 - August 7, 2026. Substantial completion by August 3, 2026. 75 days total. b) Phase 2 - May 24, 2027 - August 6, 2027. Substantial completion by August 2, 2027. 75 days total. c) Phase 3 - May 22, 2028 - August 4, 2028. Substantial completion by August 1, 2028. 75 days total. d) Phase 4 - May 21, 2029 - August 10, 2029. Substantial completion by August 6, 2029. 82 days total.
