The Town of Southbury is soliciting bids from licensed electricians to upfit existing streetlight poles with 120 VAC electrical outlets. The work will be performed on cast iron, 12-foot tall poles located on Main Street South. The bidder will provide and install weather-resistant 120 VAC, 20 Amp GFI receptacle bubble boxes about 5 feet up each pole, with specific installation requirements including drilling and tapping into the cast iron pole, anchoring the bubble box, and tying into the existing 120 VAC power source. The bidder must also temporarily disable existing light timers, connect the new receptacles, and verify proper function before re-energizing the system. Bidders are required to prepare cost proposals for quantities of 75, 100, or 150 poles. A 180-day troubleshooting and repair period is required after activation. Instructions to bidders: Responses must include a comprehensive scope of work, firm fixed price, and timeline. Submissions must contain company background, personnel qualifications, availability, examples of similar work, references, local knowledge, information on conflicts of interest and litigation/arbitration history, proposed scope of work and project description, and proof of $1 million liability insurance. Six sealed copies of all materials must be submitted. The Town will select proposals based on commitment, product quality, price, licensure, and post-installation support.
