Spanish Creek Bridge on Snake Lake Rd is a single-lane, clear-span steel pony truss with high abutment walls comprised of precast concrete panels with tieback anchors, constructed in 1969. The existing bridge has been classified as structurally deficient by Caltrans due to biannual inspections identifying failed abutment wall panels and serious deterioration of structural components. The bridge provides access to the U.S. Forest Service and private lands east of Meadow Valley. The new bridge aims to enhance traffic safety and improve conditions in Spanish Creek by increasing the flow area. The project is federally funded through the Federal Highway Bridge Program, administered by Caltrans. Bidders are instructed to mail bid documents, clearly labeling the package with "Spanish Creek Bridge." Bids sent via email will not be accepted. To receive plans and specifications, mail a nonrefundable check for $40.00 ($50.00 if plans are to be mailed back) to 1834 E Main St - Quincy, CA 95971, payable to Plumas County Public Works, and include a return address.
