Greenwood Utilities will receive sealed bids from qualified Bidders for the Golden Age Nursing Home Large Meter Replacement, as indicated in the drawings, specifications, and other contract documentation. The contract time for this work is Ninety (90) Calendar Days and will be subject to Liquidated Damages of $500.00 per calendar day for each day beyond the stipulated completion date. Contract time will begin on the date specified in the written Notice to Proceed. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State law and possess a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. For this Project, which is expected to exceed $50,000, the Certificate of Responsibility Number must be written on the outside of the sealed bid envelope or submitted as an attachment for electronic bids. All bids must comply with the guidelines and requirements of Mississippi Code of 1972 as annotated and amended. Each bidder must deposit with their bid a Bid Bond or Certified Check equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid as bid security. Prior to starting work, the successful bidder shall furnish Proof of Insurance and Performance and Payment Bonds amounting to 100% of the contract amount. Attorneys-in-fact who sign bonds must provide a certified and effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney with each bond. Bidders may be required to submit a current financial statement if requested. Bid Documents contain further instructions for bidding via sealed envelope or electronic means, and bidders are advised to read all instructions carefully. Greenwood Utilities reserves the right to determine responsible bidders, responsive bids, the lowest and best bid, reject any and all bids, award to the bidder most advantageous to Greenwood Utilities, and to waive any informalities in the bids and bidding process.
