Sealed bids are solicited for the construction of the Sandpoint Public Library Phase 2 Expansion. Bids must be marked appropriately and submitted by the specified deadline. Project documents are available for download at no cost, with hardcopy sets available for a refundable deposit and a handling fee. Bidders may register as plan holders and are encouraged to attend a strongly recommended, but not mandatory, pre-bid conference. The awarding authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in bids. Project Description: The Work consists of selective demolition, renovation of the existing Sandpoint Public Library, and construction of a new building addition, including a partial second-story expansion. Work shall be phased as required to accommodate continued library operations. Building Work: Construction includes modifications to the existing structure and new construction utilizing cast-in-place concrete foundations and slabs, structural steel framing, and wood-framed floor, wall, and roof systems with prefabricated trusses and glue-laminated members. Exterior enclosure systems include masonry, cladding, insulation, air barriers, flashing, and roofing. Interior construction includes partitions, gypsum board assemblies, ceilings, flooring, casework, and finishes, along with doors, frames, hardware, glazing, and specialties. The Work also includes firestopping and joint sealants. Site Work: Includes minor clearing, excavation and backfill, utility connections and extensions, grading and drainage improvements, concrete and asphalt pavine, and limited landscaping and irrigation modifications associated with the building addition. Temporary Construction and Phasing: Provide temporary partitions, barriers and protections as required to separate construction from occupied areas and to maintain safe and continuous operation of the library. Temporary construction shall be designed and installed by the contractor as required to maintain life safety and building operation . General Contractors and Mech/Elec/First Tier subcontractors may obtain one (1) set of documents via checks payable to Architects West and mailed to Abadan Reprographics, 603 E. 2nd Ave Spokane, WA 99202. Deposits will be returned on receipt of documents for a period of ten days after bid opening, provided they are complete and in clean, usable condition.
