Construct 2026 Street Improvements including all labor, materials and equipment necessary for approximately 18,000 SY of HMA milling and overlay, 1,500 SY of 8" PCC pavement patching, 1,200 LF of PCC curb and gutter replacement, 750 SY of PCC sidewalk ramp replacement, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup. All work and materials are to be in accordance with the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost on file. All proposals and bids must be submitted on official bidding blanks furnished by the City. Each proposal must be sealed and plainly identified. Proposals must be accompanied by either a certified or cashier's check, or a bid bond, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, made payable to the CITY OF WINTERSET, IOWA. The bid security is forfeited to the City if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract and post bond within 15 days after award. Bidders must use the bid bond form provided. Preference will be given to Iowa products, provisions, and labor as required by Iowa law. Bidders must submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form; failure to do so may result in rejection. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities or technicalities. The successful bidder must provide a 100% performance bond guaranteeing the contract, payment of labor and materials, and the work against faulty workmanship and materials for four years after completion and acceptance. Work must commence within ten days of Notice to Proceed and be completed by the established completion date, subject to extensions. Damages will be assessed for each day work remains uncompleted after the completion date. Payment will be made in accordance with specified procedures and performance.
