The Work will consist of: Repairing an eroded outfall area by replacing existing damaged pipes, creating a rip-rap plunge pool for energy dissipation and armoring the existing outfall channel with riprap to prevent future erosion. Additionally, upstream storm infrastructure will be replaced and the surrounding site improved for proper stormwater conveyance. All Bids must be on blank forms provided in the Specifications and submitted in its entirety. Bids received after the designated deadline will not be considered. 50 working days will be allowed for the completion of the Project. A Bid Bond executed and signed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama or a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank, payable to City of Daphne, Alabama, for an amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid, but in no event more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), shall be filed with the Bid. A performance bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the contract price will be required at the signing of the Agreement. A labor and materials bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the Contract Price insuring payment for all labor and materials shall also be required at the signing of the Agreement. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the City at the time of the signing of the Agreement a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the Contract Documents. No Bids will be considered unless the Bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a Bid for this Project in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, as required by Chapter 8, Title 34 of the Code of Alabama (1975). The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of the Contract Price. Liquidated damages for non-completion of the Work within the Contract Times will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the Contract. Bidders shall not include speculative or anticipated tariffs in their bid price.
