Description

Site work for a water / sewer project in Daphne, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work consists of the removal and replacement of damaged concrete ditch and the repair of existing concrete ditch where applicable. Bids must be on blank forms provided in the specifications and submitted in their entirety. A bid bond or cashier’s check for five percent of the bid amount (not to exceed $10,000) is required. The response must be sealed and labeled with the contractor’s company name, address, and general contractor’s license number. A performance bond and a labor and materials bond, each in an amount not less than the contract price, are required at the signing of the agreement. A certificate of insurance coverage must be provided at the signing of the agreement. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities. Liquidated damages for non-completion within the contract time will be assessed as per contract terms. Only tariffs announced or imposed as of the bid submission deadline may be considered; later-imposed tariffs may be grounds for a change order. Bidders must be properly qualified, including a current State Licensing Board for General Contractors license, and non-resident corporations must be qualified with the Secretary of State. Bids are invited from all qualified respondents, including minority and disadvantaged business enterprises. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after opening without City consent. The City may award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
