Remodeling of an educational facility in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.
Constructing a new demising wall to divide an existing single classroom into two separate classroom spaces. The scope includes installation of new finishes, doors, and door frames, along with associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) modifications to support the reconfigured layout. Additionally, the path of travel from the classroom exit will be upgraded to meet current accessibility and code requirements. Pre-qualification requirements: The District will accept bids only from prequalified bidders. All mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors with license classifications C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46 must also be prequalified prior to the bid due date. Bidders and MEP subcontractors must submit their online prequalification applications no later than ten business days before the due date for bids or have been prequalified for at least five business days before the bid due date. In addition, each bidder and listed subcontractor must be registered pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 at the time of bidding. There is a goal that each bidder commit to provide at least three percent of the work to one or more Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE); otherwise, Good Faith Efforts documentation must be provided. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk is also required for all bidders. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of ten percent of the total bid amount. The successful bidder must provide payment and performance bonds and comply with state prevailing wage requirements. The project may be subject to a Project Labor Agreement, and all workers must complete fingerprinting and background checks as required by State law.
