Renovation of an educational facility in Yankeetown, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project is for re-roofing Buildings 1, 3, 4, and 5 at Yankeetown School. Bids are to be submitted sealed and on the provided form. Bids must comply with specified requirements and will be awarded to the lowest and/or best bid meeting those requirements. Bids are considered firm offers and cannot be withdrawn without consent for forty-five days following opening. The School Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Re-roof Building using lifetime warranty architectural shingles and low slope single ply membrane system. 2. New roof systems to be installed per Florida Product Approval assembly and for at least 142 Vmph wind speed. 3. Remove all roofs covering including underlayment and drip edge. 4. Secure any sheathing not appropriately fastened and /or where original fasteners have failed. 5. Provide a cost per square foot for removal and replacement of damaged/ rotted roof sheathing (minimum replacement size 4' x 4') (16 sq. ft). 6. Each building roof needs to be bid individually but only one contractor will be awarded the bid based on total funding. 7. Install manufacturer-approved roofing system (to all applicable building codes) including but not limited to underlayments, starter strips, shingles, singleply system, adhesives, fasteners, and sealants. 8. Install new attic roof vents and pipe flashings of the same like and kind as existing or preapproved equal. 9. Install new drip edge ,flashings, expansion joints, equipment curb flashing and other associated accessories of the same like and kind as existing or pre-approved equal. 10. Complete cleanup and magnetization for nail removal of immediate work area. 11. Removal and disposal of all project-related debris. 12. Underlayment shall be a minimum of 2 layers of synthetic underlayment 1/2 lapped or as required for manufacturer's specs. 13. All valleys will be closed cut/ California cut. 14. Ridge vent replacement where there is an existing ridge vent shall be shingled over the ridge vent. 15. Install new base flashing. Counter flashings can be re-used if that meet the shingles manufacturer's specs. 16. Contractor must provide a copy of contractor's workmanship warranty. 17. Contractor must be a certified installer of the manufacturer and provide a copy of the manufacturer's backed (minimal 20 year no dollar limit) workmanship and material warranty. 18. Contractor must provide a copy of manufacturer's installation instructions. 19. Provide cost for supplying and installing perimeter construction security fencing as specified in the attachment for this project. 20. The contractor is responsible for applying for and obtaining all necessary permits and documentation through the school board's building official. (Marshal McElroy of NEFEC) The permit will be of no cost to the contractor. 21. Any company submitting a bid that has not performed roofing projects for the School Board of Levy County in the past must provide documents of three (3) completed projects of approximately the same scope and size. Any questions, discrepancies, or alterations to the above specifications must be discussed with and approved, in writing, by the building official and the director of maintenance for the School Board of Levy County.
