Site work and renovation of a municipal facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

This is the first phase (Phase One) of a two-phase process: the first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all interested suppliers; the second phase (Phase Two) will invite the qualified suppliers to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. The qualification list will expire within 60 days or upon award of a contract in Phase Two, whichever is earlier, and the prequalification list will not be used in any other solicitation. Work of this Contract is comprised of the interior sanitary and exterior storm sewer repairs located at the National Forestry Centre (NR Can). This work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Installation of Sanitary Sewer below existing concrete floor including: 1. Investigation of existing subsurface sanitary pipe depth and locations. 2. Private locates of the concrete floor for existing power and telecommunications conduit 3. Saw cut of the concrete floor and removal 4. Excavation and Removal of soils (gravel and clay expected) a. Removal and disposal of all contaminated materials if required 5. Where possible removal of the existing sanitary line (where required). 6. Installation all pipe including fittings, bends, wyes and connections to existing pipes. a. 100 m of 100mm Schedule 40 pipe b. 110 m of 200mm Schedule 40 pipe 7. Working around existing Acid Waste lines (to be maintained), and any other underground facilities encountered. 8. Supporting all other pipes and infrastructure during construction 9. Replacement of fill material with gravel of non shrinkable grout (Fillcrete) 10. Rehabilitation of removed concrete floor including rebar 11. Replacement of tile on floor 12. Cleaning of the Acid Waste line, flushing and vacuuming 13. Grouting of the abandoned sanitary lines Installation of Storm System including 1. Saw cut and removal of existing pavement 2. Removal and stockpile of fill material. Erosion control during construction 3. 8 catch basin maintenance hole 1- 1200 dia. and 7 - 900 dia. Concrete, including rubber gaskets for pipe installation 4. 85 m of 150mm PVC SDR 35 pipe 5. 41 m of 250mm PVC SDR 35 pipe 6. 103 m of 300mm PVC SDR 35 pipe 7. Crossing of existing underground power line 8. Includes all connection to existing pipes 9. Camera and cleaning of pipe not to be removed Pavement Rehabilitation of disturbed areas 1. New raised pavement area for gate Mobilization and demobilization of all personnel, equipment, support facilities and materials required to complete the Work. Site cleanup once all the work has been completed. EXISTING SANITARY INVERT CONNECTION DEPTH The contractor shall confirm the depth of the existing sanitary sewers at key locations before any sanitary sewers are disconnected or new pipe is installed. Based on the as-built drawings the depth of the existing sanitary sewer, below the floor of the maintenance corridor, should be such that the invert of the pipe is above the bottom of the grade beams. The contractor is to coordinate this investigation with the engineer and confirm the actual depths. The Contractor shall, provide the engineer at least 48 hours' notice as to when they plan to perform this investigation. The contractor shall immediately following the excavation and exposure of the existing sanitary lines, complete the following: 1. Measure the invert depths of all existing connections between existing sanitary lateral lines and the sanitary main. See Figure 1.1 (will be provided in phase 2). 2. Inform the Engineer of any sanitary connections on site that are not highlighted in Figure 1.1 (will be provided in phase 2). 3. Leave the excavation open until the Engineer has confirmed the depth to the pipes. The Contractor must perform and complete the Work within Thirty-Two (32) weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer.
