Hernando County, FL is seeking a qualified contractor to perform renovation services on the multipurpose field at 34030 Ridge Manor Blvd, Ridge Manor, FL 33523. The goal is to upgrade the field to meet the standards required for multi-use athletic activities. The field size is 224 feet by 388 feet, totaling 86,912 square feet or 9,657 square yards. Question Deadline 04/27/2026 at 12:00 AM ET All questions relative to interpretation of the specifications or the bid process shall be addressed in writing via Hernando County's website Scope of Work: Specifications This project is intended to restore the athletic field to its pre-Hurricane Milton condition. All work shall be performed in a manner that returns the surface to a safe, functional, and properly graded playing condition consistent with its original design and use. A. Herbicide Application: 1. Three (3) applications of Glyphosate (41%) at 64 ounces per acre. The field is two (2) acres. 2. This application is to take place a minimum of two (2) months prior to the installation of the sod. B. Irrigation System Preparation: 1. Cap all irrigation heads with locator holes to prevent damage during tilling and grading operations. C. Soil Preparation: 1. Reverse till the soil to a minimum depth of 6 inches. 2. If deep compaction is detected by a County representative a deeper till will be required, at contractor's expense, but not to exceed 12 inches. D. Grading: 1. Rough grade the field to remove any uneven surfaces. 2. Haul and dispose of any organic material to an on-site location marked by the Project Manager. E. Top Dressing: 1. Install a 90/10 top dressing athletic field mix as needed to correct grades and improve drainage. 2. Top dressing is to be applied at a minimum spread rate of 1/2" totaling a minimum of 129 cubic yards. 3. Truck tickets are required to show the origin and certified mix design. F. Laser Grading: 1. Laser grade the field using a dual-transmitter, dual-receiver laser-guided system to ensure correct elevation and slope for optimal drainage. 1. Re-install all irrigation heads. Any heads damaged, or lost, as a result of the renovation activities must be replaced with Toro T7 models, at the contractor's expense. H. Sod Installation: 1. Install a minimum of 9,657 square yards of Celebration Bermuda grass across the entire field. 2. Roll the new sod in multiple directions using a 36-inch double drum roller to ensure proper soil contact and eliminate air pockets. 3. The contractor shall supply a certified Turfgrass Certificate or Blue Tag each delivery or truckload. I. Clean-Up: 1. Thoroughly clean the site, removing all debris and equipment. 2. The contractor can store equipment on-site in an area designated by the Project Manager. 3. Damages caused by the contractor's equipment shall be restored at the contractor's expense
