The work consists of providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform tornado damage repairs at facilities operated by the USDA Agricultural Research Service. The project involves renovation and repair of multiple greenhouse and support structures damaged by a recent tornado and will be performed in phases to allow continued use of the facilities and transition of ongoing research activities during construction. The total scope includes approximately 48,000 square feet of greenhouses and an additional 20,000 square feet of associated corridors, vents, and intake screening, with option pricing that may also be utilized. Phase 1 includes demolition and replacement of nine standard greenhouses, a corridor, vents, and intake screening totaling approximately 20,500 square feet, along with repairs to the roofing of the main building. Phase 2 includes demolition and replacement of eight standard greenhouses, four conditioned greenhouses, associated corridors, vents, and intake screening totaling approximately 24,000 square feet, and replacement of mechanical units on two adjacent storage buildings. Phase 3 includes demolition and replacement of four standard greenhouses and associated corridor, vents, and intake screening totaling approximately 11,000 square feet. Phase 4 includes demolition and replacement of six standard greenhouses with associated vents and intake screening totaling approximately 12,500 square feet. Additional work includes demolition and reconstruction of one greenhouse and one hoophouse at Picos Farm, construction of new prefabricated open-sided steel structures over existing slabs to protect pumps and mechanical systems, demolition and replacement or repair of greenhouses at Whitmore Farm, construction of a new prefabricated pesticide storage building, demolition of existing storage and pump house structures, and site restoration. All new greenhouse systems will include new microgrow control systems, compliance with Florida containment requirements, and properly meshed venting systems. The contract is anticipated to be awarded as a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project with a construction magnitude exceeding $10,000,000. Questions shall be submitted via email to erin.riffey@usda.gov and are due no later than May 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. 1232SA25F0461
