The City of Marco Island is soliciting bids for the construction of an open storage structure to house 60 portable generators at the City's South Water Treatment Plant. The project includes furnishing, installing, and commissioning a prefabricated steel structure, along with site improvements including, but not limited to, concrete foundation, electrical system, plumbing, pavement, drainage, and other associated work, in accordance with the project bid drawings and specifications. It is preferred for all bids to be submitted electronically through Demandstar, but paper sealed bid proposals are also accepted. The project is scheduled to begin on June 2026, with a requirement for completion within 10 months. This scope outlines the work for the construction of an open storage structure and associated site improvements, including a proposed standalone prefabricated open metal structure, foundation, road pavement, drainage system, and electrical and plumbing improvements. The proposed 120 ft by 120 ft prefabricated steel structure shall house 60 portable generators and shall have a finished floor elevation of 10 ft (NAVD). The steel structure shall be designed for an ultimate wind speed of 190 mph, Risk Category IV, and Exposure Category B, and shall include roof insulation. The project also includes the concrete foundation work and site improvements to accommodate the required swales in accordance with the ERP permit. The Project Site Development Permit Application has been approved by Growth Management; however, the Contractor mustsubmit a building permit application through the City of Marco Island's portal prior to mobilization.
