Renovation of an educational facility in Staunton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project is a Level 2 renovation, consisting of consolidation of two existing walk-in cooler spaces into one space and upfitting that space. Equipment associated with the new walk-in cooler will be relocated to the roof over the Arcade. Summary Project Description: Bass Hall is a four-story building on the campus of The Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind. The Kitchen is on the Ground Floor. The scope of this project will be the consolidation of two existing walk-in coolers currently serving the Kitchen. There will be selective demolition to prepare the existing space for the new equipment. New work will be closely coordinated with the Owner's subcontractor who has been selected to provide the walkin cooler. The extent of the subcontracted work is outlined in Appendix D. The General Contractor will be responsible to provide rated ceilings, finishes and improvements to existing sprinkler and electrical systems. Mechanical equipment associated with the new walk-in cooler will be relocated to the roof over the arcade. The General Contractor will provide work on the existing roof to mount the new condensing unit (provided by the walk-in cooler subcontractor). B. Contract Scope: Construction, demolition, renovation, and hazardous material removal. 5:00 pm on Friday, April 17: Cutoff date for questions as determined by the Bid Officer.
