Description

Site work for a power facility in Edgewater, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a power facility.

Design and construction of a ground-mounted photovoltaic solar array system for agrivoltaics research, delivered under a design-build contract. The work includes the complete design, engineering, permitting, and construction of four distinct agrivoltaic array configurations with a combined total capacity of 2.0 megawatts DC. The system will be installed to support agricultural research activities, integrating solar energy generation with active agricultural land use. The scope encompasses all labor, materials, equipment, and coordination necessary to provide a fully functional agrivoltaics photovoltaic system, including electrical interconnection and related infrastructure. Location: Smithsonian Environmental Research Center property located on approximately 12 acres of agricultural land behind the Woodlawn House, 647 Contees Wharf Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. QUESTIONS/ SUBMITTALS It is desired that all questions be sent in word format, sequentially numbered for example first questions 1, 2, 3, second set of questions 4, 5, 6, etc. to grantca@si.edu. It is requested that all questions be sent in by Monday May 18, 2026, no later than 3PM EST. All answers to every question from any offeror will be provided in writing to all offerors on SAM.gov.
