The public improvement consists of the replacement of electrical equipment in buildings 80-1, 80-2, 80-3, and 62 at the Wastewater Reclamation Facility, 3000 Vandalia Road, Des Moines, Iowa. The work includes switchgear, motor control centers, large panel boards, small lighting transformers, transfer switches, other associated electrical equipment, and all necessary materials, equipment, labor, miscellaneous associated work, and cleanup, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 681-067/116. Sealed proposals must be submitted through the specified electronic bid submission system. Paper, fax, or emailed bids will not be considered. Bid security is required with each bid, consistent with Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code and as otherwise specified. Preference will be given to Iowa products, coal produced within Iowa, and Iowa domestic labor, as required by law. Sales tax is not to be included in the bid, and a sales tax exemption certificate will be provided for all project materials. The jurisdiction reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter into such contracts as it deems in its best interest. The jurisdiction also reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for 60 calendar days after bid opening.
