Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Buffalo, New York. Completed plans call for the construction of a two-story above grade office development.
Empire AI Consortium, Inc. is seeking proposals from firms to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services for Project 2025-081, associated with a proposed Data Center at the University at Buffalo's North Campus. The facility will be a state-of-the-art AI research computing center, serving as a shared academic resource. The center will be a freestanding, two-story building constructed on a 1.83-acre parcel, featuring a data center, office area, staging areas, electrical rooms, and mechanical equipment rooms. The facility will utilize a closed loop water system capable of leveraging hot water output for campus-wide heating. The project emphasizes clean-energy opportunities aligned with New York State and University priorities. The data center is expected to provide up to 15MW of computing power in its future state, with at least 5MW available at initiation. The project is currently in the schematic design phase. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk-through is required for eligibility to bid. Interested parties need to notify the contact person via email by the stated deadline if they plan to attend the pre-bid conference, and any questions regarding the RFP must also be submitted in writing by the specified date. Bid proposals are to be submitted by the published due date. Up to four representatives per interested firm may attend the pre-bid conference.
