Site work and paving for a road / highway in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Electronically submitted bids will be received for the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements generally described as follows: approximately 12,500 cubic yards of grading, subgrade preparation and modified subbase associated with 19,836 square yards of 9-inch reinforced PCC paving, 1,985 square yards of full-depth PCC patching, storm sewer modifications, permanent traffic signals at three intersections, pavement markings, traffic control, and site restoration. The kinds of materials, estimated quantities, and work to be done for the project are as shown on the bid proposal. All work must strictly comply with the approved Plans and Specifications. All bids must be submitted on the provided form and accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a cashier's/certified check in an amount equal to ten percent of the total bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price and provide a guarantee of maintenance for a period of four years from acceptance. Failure to submit a completed Bidder Status Form may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected. Preference will be given to products and labor from Iowa according to statutory requirements. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities or irregularities. All work must commence within ten days of notice to proceed and be substantially completed by the indicated date, with liquidated damages applying for delays.
