The Board of Education of the West Des Moines Community School District is soliciting sealed lump-sum bids for the renovation of Hillside Elementary School located at 713 8th Street, West Des Moines. The scope includes general construction, mechanical, and electrical work. Bids must be received before the specified deadline at the designated location. Bidders are responsible for timely and proper submission of their bids. A bid security deposit of no less than 5% of the base bid is required, payable without conditions to the West Des Moines Community School District. The successful bidder must furnish a Certificate of Insurance and both Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Bids must remain irrevocable for 30 days after submission. The project is tax exempt; Iowa State Sales Tax should not be included in bid totals. Preference should be given to products and provisions produced or grown within Iowa. Bidders must submit a completed Bidder Status Form regarding their resident status, as designated by the Iowa Department of Labor. The Board of Education reserves all rights to accept or reject any or all bids, and to waive any informalities or irregularities as allowed by law. All bids are governed by applicable Iowa Code and district policies, including those on non-discrimination, equal employment opportunity, and affirmative action.
