Site work for a transportation facility in Potsdam, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a 36,000-square-foot transportation facility; 26,000-square-foot transportation facility; and 68,500-square-foot transportation facility.
The project generally consists of the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and expansion of the existing asphalt terminal apron. Rehabilitation includes mill and asphalt overlay of approximately 68,500 SF of existing asphalt apron pavement, joint and crack repair, and full depth reconstruction of approximately 36,000 SF of the existing asphalt apron. The project also includes an approximately 26,000 SF asphalt apron expansion to accommodate FAA standard aircraft access and aircraft tie-down spaces. Additional elements include replacement of medium intensity incandescent edge lighting with new medium intensity LED taxiway edge lighting (including new conduit, cable, counterpoise, duct bank, and regulator replacement), installation and replacement of underdrain and aircraft tie-down anchors, and new pavement markings. Contractors must be bonded and insured to the level indicated in the contract documents, and a Federal DBE participation goal is included. The project is sales tax exempt. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price for the contract in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Preparation of Proposal.
