As of May 11, 2026 Unfortunately, we did not receive any filed sub bids for the Cobble Mountain Hydrostation Crane Replacement - Electrical - SWSC IFB No. 26-28. We are going to remove the electrical subbid from the project by addendum and get that work done another way. The Contractor will be responsible for the work described in general as 1. Removal and disposal of the existing 45-ton bridge crane 2. Engineering, supply, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of a new 45-ton bridge crane 3. Further scoping details are provided in associated Specification Sections; The crane is a double girder, top running bridge crane with a single main hook of 45-ton rated capacity, originally designed with a 40-ton rated capacity but was uprated to 45-ton to accommodate a heavier pick. The bridge crane's trolley houses the major hoisting equipment items, including the motor, gearbox, drums and associated bull gear, hoist brake, trolley drive including idler bogies, structural frame, and miscellaneous shafting and bearings. The existing crane shall be removed and replaced and will operateon the existing runway and rail with minor modifications. Contractor must agree to pay Davis Bacon wage rates or MA Prevailing Wage rates whenever applicable. The SWSC reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
