The Bureau of State Highway Programs requires assistance to develop the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) and Vulnerable Road User Safety Assessment (VRU-SA). The SHSP is a statewide-coordinated safety plan that provides a comprehensive framework for reducing highway fatalities and serious injuries on all public roadways. The VRU-SA is a comprehensive assessment that evaluates the safety of vulnerable road users (VRU) and devise a plan of strategies to enhance VRU safety. These documents are required for obligation of Highway Safety Improvement Program funds. Assist with the development of the SHSP and VRU-SA in collaboration with WisDOT staff. The consultant will also facilitate and set-up public engagement opportunities throughout the state and via online opportunities.
