This project includes all labour, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the landscape improvements at Amherst Island Public School in accordance with the issued drawings and specifications. The scope comprises site removals, preparation, layout, and tree protection as indicated in the project documents. The contractor is responsible for coordinating all required utility locates, maintaining site safety, and protecting existing infrastructure and features to remain. All grading, subgrade preparation, and base installation are to be completed to achieve the proposed finishes and ensure positive drainage throughout the site. New construction includes the supply and installation of engineered wood fiber surfacing (including top-up areas), stone dust surfacing, sand play areas, long jump sand pit, asphalt paving with rolled edges, fencing, gates, bike racks, flagpoles, sport equipment (basketball systems and soccer goals), outdoor classroom elements, armor stone seating, raised wooden planters, and custom cedar site furnishings. The work also includes planting of trees, shrubs, hydroseeding, and associated maintenance during the warranty period. Bids must be submitted online and in English, as specified in the bid documents. The meeting will conclude in time for bidders to take the return 12:00 PM ferry from Stella. Respondents must be on site and signed in before 11:15:00 AM EST. For that reason, the Board recommends that respondents allow sufficient time to get to the site. Respondents arriving near the deadline do so at their own risk. Attendance is mandatory for the full length of the meeting and respondents must sign out when the site visit has concluded. Failure to meet any of the above will result in automatic disqualification from the tender process. Respondents shall attend the site meeting at their own risk and hold the Board harmless for any issues or damages arising out of their attendance of the site meeting. The Board will not consider any claims for additional payments during the execution of the Work for extra work or difficulties encountered resulting from conditions which were either visible or could be reasonably inferred from an examination of the Place of the Work and the available project information prior to the submission of Proposals.
