Bids over $100,000.00 shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier's check in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. All bids shall be entered in ink or typewritten and shall remain firm for a period of not less than sixty (60) days. Berkeley County is requesting proposals to upgrade and replace end of life cycle electrical components for Pump Station 066. A satisfactory start-up and draw-down test on the equipment provided will need to be conducted. A demo of the identified equipment and restoration at the pump station site will need to be completed after completion. This Proposal does not commit Berkeley County to award a Contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a Proposal or to procure or contract for the articles of goods or services. The successful bidder shall agree that if the work, or any part thereof, is not completed within the time agreed and indicated in the contract document that he shall be liable to the county in the amount as stipulated below for each and every calendar day the completion of the work is delayed beyond the time provided in the contract. A. Substantial completion: the successful bidder shall pay the county $500.00 for each day that expires after the time specified in paragraph 17 above for substantial completion until the work is substantially complete. B. Final completion: after substantial completion, if the successful bidder shall neglect, refuse, or fail to complete the remaining work within the contract times (as duly adjusted pursuant to the contract) for completion and readiness for final payment, the successful bidder shall pay the county $500.00 for each day that expires after such time until the work is completed and ready for final payment. Project shall be substantially completed within 175 calendar days of the County's Notice to Proceed. Final completion shall occur within 190 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages shall be applied as shown in the Agreement.
