(KQTV) -- Following a public hearing at the last City Council meeting, councilmembers will now look to adopt a resolution to approve the next five years of projects for the Capital Improvement Program. Over the five-year planning period, from Fiscal Year 2028 through Fiscal Year 2032, projects totalling $104,031,053 were scheduled in five major categories. City facilities can expect to see an investment of $6,664,039 in equipment acquisitions, upgrades and replacements. Approximately $235,544 will go toward vehicle acquisition, upgrades and replacement. Around $19,406,394 will go to repair, renovate and construct public buildings, while $42,763,076 will improve roads, bridges and hiking and bike trails. As the City heads into FY 2027 of its CIP projects, residents can expect to see over $52 million in improvements, including $1.3 million in design for Cell 9 of the St. Joseph Sanitary Landfill and $6 million to help fund the YMCA's indoor pool. Council will look to adopt the funding for FY28-32 at its Monday, June 8, meeting. --------------------------------- The work will generally consist of the complete construction of a new Fire Station. Bidders should pay close attention to State Prevailing Wage Determination and OSHA Safety Training requirements per R.S.Mo 292.675. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
