Demolition and renovation of an office development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a office development; and office development.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education is soliciting qualification statements from experienced Architectural/Engineering firms for Design services for facility demolition and upfit/renovation projects. The scope of the Design services includes Civil, Architectural, and MEP disciplines for the following: Demolition of Smith Family Center at 1600 Tyvola Road, Charlotte, NC; Upfit/renovation of the (Old) Dorothy J. Vaughan Academy of Technology at 8601 Old Concord Road, Charlotte, NC, for Administrative Workspace Use; and other demolition and upfit/renovation projects as designated. Responses must be submitted to CMS Auxiliary Services at 3301 Stafford Drive by mail or in person only; proposals received after the deadline will be returned unopened. CMS reserves the right to select, re-advertise, and/or reject any proposal for any reason. RFIs received as of 5/14/2026
