Renovation of a medical facility in White Rock, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The project involves a targeted renovation of Gamma Camera Room 1 (AC180) in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Peace Arch Hospital to accommodate a new Siemens Symbia Evo gamma camera. Work is limited to the existing room footprint and includes removal of obsolete finishes and services, upgrades to radiation shielding and infection control features, and focused mechanical and electrical modifications to support new imaging equipment. Construction will be coordinated to minimize disruption to adjacent clinical areas. Architectural scope includes selective demolition of existing finishes, ceilings, doors, and wall assemblies, as well as full replacement of wall lead shielding (0.8 mm / 2 lb) and lead-lined doors. Mechanical work involves replacing the existing split A/C unit and outdoor condenser for revised cooling loads, minor HVAC reconfiguration at ceiling level, and temporary ventilation during construction. Electrical work requires removal of obsolete lighting, raceways, and devices, and installation of new LED lighting, emergency lighting, and exit signage. TIMELINE: Request for Proposal to provide consultant services for the project is underway. Further update in late spring 2026, pending selection of a preferred proponent.
