Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Spencer, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Provide labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to construct a new concrete parking lot at the former Courthouse Annex behind the courthouse, including proper site preparation, compaction, concrete placement, and integration with the existing parking lot. Bidders must complete the bid form. Each bid form shall be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Roane County Commission, 200 Main Street, Spencer, WV 25276. Each sealed envelope must be plainly marked on the outside as BID for Roane County Parking Lot Construction. Any person or entity submitting a bid on this project must have a valid business license, be insured, and meet all the qualifications required to do business in the state of WV. The Roane County Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any information therein. All bids shall be valid for thirty (30) days from the day of opening. The work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. Site Preparation o Level existing site o Leveling of edges or existing parking lot to ease transition onto new surface o Remove unsuitable materials as necessary. o Install and grade aggregate base material as needed o Compact base to achieve proper density and stability as needed. 2. Concrete Parking Lot Installation o Furnish and place reinforced concrete suitable for vehicular traffic. o Concrete thickness 6" o Brush finish surface to provide proper drainage and a durable, slip-resistant finish. 3. Tie-In to Existing Parking Lot o Clean and prepare existing concrete edge. o Drill and install rebar or equivalent as required to securely tie the new concrete into the existing parking lot. o Saw-cut and install expansion or control joints to prevent cracking and differential movement. 4. Curing and Protection o Cure concrete in accordance with industry standards. 5. Special Staging: o Contractor shall be required to coordinate with affected business or individuals with the intent to resolve any issues that arise or may arise regarding access to or from specific properties. Emergency egress requirements shall be maintained at all times. 6. Cleanup o Remove debris and excess materials. o Leave job site in clean, safe condition. 7. Warranty: o Contractor shall guarantee all work against defective workmanship or materials for a period of one (1) year from the date of completion. o Ordinary wear and tear and unusual abuse or neglect will not be subject to warranty work.
