Site work for a water / sewer project in Naujaat, Nunavut. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The objective of the project is to construct a new wastewater treatment facility (lagoon and wetland treatment area) on the east side of Naujaat, Nunavut. The project site is adjacent to an existing solar energy facility and the community airport. Major components include blasting and earthworks, a dual layer impermeable liner system, two inflow chutes, subdrainage piping, wetland treatment retention berms, and a new access road. The Contractor will be responsible for project management and coordination with the Owner, Consultant, and the municipality of Naujaat. The work includes aggregate production, hauling, stockpiling, dewatering, ditching, removal and disposal of unsuitable materials, and the installation of geosynthetic systems. Ancillary works include culverts, riprap, signage and fencing. The work also includes provision and commissioning of pumping and pipe thaw equipment, quality assurance testing, survey stakeout, and protection of archaeological resources.
