The work generally consists of the replacement of the First Street Doors at City Hall, located at 101 First St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis. The work for this project shall be performed according to Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS), 2025 edition. Items included in the project are exempt from State of Iowa and Local Option Sales and Use Taxes, and sales and use taxes shall not be included in the bid. Bid security in the amount of five percent of the bid must accompany each bid. The successful bidder shall be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price. All contractors and subcontractors shall be responsible for pre-employment drug screening of prospective employees and shall have in place a drug and alcohol testing policy that conforms to the requirements of Iowa Code, submitting an affidavit attesting to this practice with their bid. Preference will be given to Iowa produced products and Iowa domestic labor to the extent lawfully required under state statutes, and resident bidders shall be allowed a preference against nonresident bidders from states or foreign countries that give or require a preference to their own bidders. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to defer acceptance of any proposal for 60 calendar days after the bids have been received and opened.
