Installation of Wildlife Chain-Link Fence: The City of New Smyrna Beach is seeking sealed bids from qualified and licensed Contractors to provide and install a new 8-foot-tall chain link fence with wildlife fence skirting at the New Smyrna Beach Airport. The project also includes minor tree cutting/clearing, select site grading, and restoration. All required documents must be completed and submitted through the City's eProcurement Portal. DEADLINE FOR QUESTIONS: May 19, 2026 This project generally includes the installation of a new 8-foot-tall chain-link fence with 3-strand barbed wire and wildlife fence skirting to mitigate access in locations where wildlife has been observed entering the Airport Operations Area (AOA), or where no AOA fencing currently exists at the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport. Additionally, the project includes, but is not limited to, clearing and grubbing operations to provide a minimum 10-foot clearance between the existing tree line and the proposed fence line; demolition of existing 6-foot chain-link fencing, airport security gates, and airport ditch crossings; installation of new airport security gates and wildlife exclusion ditch crossings; and restoration operations. The proposed development shall meet FAA standards and the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan to mitigate future wildlife access into the airport's AOA. complete the work within SEVENTY-FIVE (75) DAYS thereafter.
