Demolition, site work and new construction of a communication facility in Owensboro, Kentucky. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a communication facility; for the construction of a communication facility; and for site work for a communication facility.
OMU is seeking proposals for structural consultant and design services for the replacement of the existing Transmission Tower #22. The new structure will be constructed farther inland away from the riverbank, with the relocation not exceeding 250 feet from the current position, and must remain in line and within OMU’s existing easements. The structure must maintain the current height of conductors crossing the river. Proposals should include professional consulting, engineering, and design services only. OMU will secure contract labor and equipment for construction and demolition. Engineering services should include recommendations and designs for the new structure and its foundation, with a geotechnical investigation. Familiarity with high voltage transmission line supporting structures, FAA regulations, and navigable waterway requirements is essential. All engineering and design services, including the geotechnical investigation, must be completed and provided to OMU by September 18, 2026. Prospective bidders may obtain bid documents and specifications by sending an email with their company name and a brief business description.
