The scope of work includes the demolition of the existing Veterans Memorial Stadium and associated site features, along with modifications to existing utility infrastructure to prepare the site for future construction of the Stadium and Athletics Sports Complex (SASC) Project. Work includes abatement and demolition of the existing stadium complex, associated structures, site improvements, and utility infrastructure within the project limits in accordance with applicable regulations. It requires crushing of existing on-site concrete, including grandstand and asphalt materials, to create stockpiles for reuse during future construction phases. All stadium materials, debris, and hazardous materials must be properly removed and disposed of in accordance with regulations. The scope also includes rerouting, relocation, or disconnection of existing utilities, distribution systems, fire alarm, and related infrastructure in order to maintain electrical service to existing campus facilities as necessary to remove the stadium from the campus utility infrastructure. There will be modifications to the installation of a new domestic water meter and backflow preventer, and gas meter to serve the existing central plant building northeast of the SASC Project, and removal of the existing domestic water meter, backflow, and gas meter, with disruptions to the central plant utilities to be as minimal as possible. Coordination with the Long Beach Utilities Department is required, including installation of new water connections, meters, and backflow preventers to serve the proposed SASC buildings, with protections from construction activities. Temporary or permanent electrical equipment must be installed as necessary to maintain uninterrupted service to surrounding campus buildings, which includes Building Z, softball, and baseball fields. Demolition and removal of existing stadium structure, seating, athletics field track, utilities footings, ticket booth, surface parking areas serving the stadium, and related site features such as walls, chain-link fencing, gates, landscaping, and other improvements is required. Installation of temporary sidewalks, pedestrian pathways, and other site improvements are required to maintain campus circulation and support future construction activities. This work is intended to prepare and stabilize the site for subsequent construction of the new Stadium and Athletic Sports Complex. Question Deadline 05/28/2026 at 10:00 AM PT Bidders may submit pre-bid inquiries or clarification requests related to the project scope or bidding requirements. All questions are to be submitted through electronically only. Bidders are solely and exclusively responsible for submitting such inquiries or clarification requests. The District will not respond to any bidder inquiries or clarification requests, unless such inquiries or clarification requests are timely submitted via electronically. Liquidated Damages Delayed Completion, Delayed Punch List and Delayed Submittals: $5,000.00 per Calendar Day License Requirement: At the time bids are submitted, each Bidder shall possess a valid California Contractor License A or B, by the contractor or one of its subcontractors, and must maintain the license(s) throughout the duration of the project. All designated subcontractors will also be required to have current and active CSLB licenses at the time of submission of the bid and throughout the duration of the project. All Direct Contractors planning to submit a bid are required to attend the entire pre-bid conference. Participants must attend at or before 10:00 A.M. Persons attending later than said time will not be allowed to join the mandatory virtual pre-bid conference, nor be allowed to bid on the project as prime contractors.
