Work consists of a design-build construction effort to perform life safety repairs and electrical upgrades at an existing hangar facility. The project includes installing new electrical power on the southeast side of Hangar 1 to support the Black Hawk Aircrew Trainer and the Transportable Flight Procedure Simulator, including dedicated ECU units. Electrical scope includes providing two 120/208V, 200-amp, 60Hz, three-phase, four-wire plus ground services for each device with required military-spec receptacles. The work also includes connecting the simulators to the existing fire alarm system, converting bay areas to a wet-pipe sprinkler system, correcting egress deficiencies, and completing additional life safety upgrades such as code-required egress and emergency lighting. The project further requires installation of expanded metal mesh within a prefabricated arms vault to achieve compliance with AR 190-11 requirements for use as an Arms Room. Updates to the existing fire protection system may be required to meet current building codes. The facility is designated as a historic building, and coordination with the State Historic Preservation Office is required to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The project will be executed as a total small business set-aside using lowest price technically acceptable source selection procedures, with a construction cost limitation of $21,000,000 and an anticipated performance period of approximately 600 calendar days. The construction cost limitation for this requirement is $21,000,000. The performance period will be approximately 600 calendar days.
