Demolition, site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Austin, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; and municipal facility.

Support is requested for the remediation and redevelopment of 25 and 27 Main Street, two attached, blighted commercial structures that have been condemned. Activities include demolition and lead abatement of both structures; construction of a finished exterior wall on adjoining privately-owned 23 Main Street; site clearance; and redevelopment as a community memorial green space. The project will salvage and repurpose original brick, incorporating engraved memorials to the victims of the 1911 Austin Dam disaster into the community space design and the Austin Dam Memorial. The project also supports heritage tourism related to the Austin Dam Memorial Association. Pre-Proposal Site Visit Optional – Please contact Borough to make arrangements.
