City officials in Palmetto are also evaluating renovation of an existing five-story office building known as the Sunmed Building, located adjacent to the current city hall at 600 Eighth Ave. W. The property was valued at approximately $3.3 million in 2025 and is being considered as an alternative to new construction to address space constraints and aging infrastructure in the current city hall, which dates back to the 1950s.
