Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Kitchener, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 9,800-square-foot, one-story above grade transportation facility; for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Only Prequalified Proponents from SQ-2022-ERNA-122 - Category Three that have been invited to participate can submit a bid for this procurement. The contract includes the full construction of the new King Victoria GO Transit Hub on the Guelph Subdivision (mile 62.70 to 63.07), consisting of two elevated station platforms, underground pedestrian and multi-use pathway tunnels, transit hub buildings, elevators, shelters, and complete civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and track infrastructure works. The scope covers all staging, coordination, temporary works, environmental protection, traffic control, and road closure coordination at Duke Street and Waterloo Street, along with coordination and relocation/protection of existing utilities. Major construction works include new platform access and service buildings, mini platforms, stair enclosures, platform shelters, and integrated GO passenger shelters, along with the supply and installation of elevators and provisions for future elevators. Mechanical systems include hydronic heating, snow melting, natural gas supply, HVAC systems, ventilation, fuel systems, sump pumps, and building automation systems. Electrical works include power distribution, transformers, backup power and generators, lighting and emergency lighting, signaling and communications, passenger information and Presto systems, HVAC power integration, CCTV and security systems, grounding and surge protection and full coordination with other trades in compliance with Metrolinx standards. The contract also includes new water, storm and sanitary services, utility relocation, tunnel and retaining wall construction with waterproofing, track realignment and diversion tracks, signaling design and installation, and full civil site works including grading, roads, sidewalks, fences, ramps, retaining walls, culverts, and site appurtenances as well as landscape and restoration works including tree protection, topsoil and sod, planting, site furnishings and maintenance of landscape elements.
