Sealed bids are being accepted for the construction of the Worth County Dirt Road Restoration Projects. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the restoration of sections of Ausby Road, Egypt Road, Story Road, and Mt. Horeb Road, as specified in the project documents. Bids must include a list of the contractor's experience with similar dirt road projects. Everything is centered from the mid-point over the culvert pipe in both directions on the road for approximately 1000+/- feet. (Average linear feet is between 1200 and 1500 to cover all damage and outflow. It can be greater depending on damage). o Project will/may include aggregate Rock - #3, #5, crusher run, & Rip-Rap Type 3 as noted. o Ditches with a slope of 2% or greater will need rock check-dams added to control flow volume. For the road base, consider adding water bars in selected locations. o All sites will receive crusher run to be placed over matting/fabric to a minimum depth of 6 inches loose with compaction to 5 inches. Road edges will need to be blended and rolled. o Ditch cut is parabolic U shape. o Ditch width cannot be greater than 3 feet. Depth cannot be any greater than 4 feet. o Ditch will contain matting/fabric on the entirety with overlap on to the road. o Aggregate placed in the ditch will be noted as rock #3, #4, or #5 at 2 inches deep. If a large flow volume is likely, add rock check dams. o For any culvert pipe replacements, apply matting fabric and rock under pipe for support and top cover with matting fabric and rock. Complete any headwalls that are required. Grass all remaining bare areas in the project site. o Turnouts will not be done directly into any receiving waterbody. Turnouts will also need matting and rock. Rock size for turnouts is typically Rip-Rap Type 3 o Grass - hydroseed and/or hand (combination of both is preferred) Seed will be a combination of 2 different kinds due to the season. Seed rates will be per seed supplier recommendations. This also will require core straw matting to prevent erosion before grass comes up. Site preparations will require clean out / reshaping and crowning and any maintenance work before restoration begins. o Wetland/sensitive areas will require silt fence to be placed before any work is started.
