Middlesex County, Virginia, is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the demolition, removal, and replacement of the Broad Creek Public Dock located on Timberneck Rd in Deltaville, Virginia. The project generally consists of demolition and disposal of the existing dock structure and construction of a replacement public dock of approximately the same dimensions and layout. The existing public dock is an L shape, with a 12 by 5 foot ramp leading to it. The size of the dock is approximately as follows: o Main pier: 64 feet x 10 feet wide o Terminal "L" section: 19 feet x 15 feet Including the ramp, the total square footage is approximately 985 square feet. The successful bidder shall demolish and remove the existing dock and construct a replacement dock generally matching these dimensions and layout. 5. SCOPE OF WORK Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supervision, tools, equipment, transportation, disposal, permits (if assigned), and incidentals necessary to complete the project. Work shall include: A. Demolition o Remove existing decking, framing, pilings (as required), and appurtenances o Dispose of debris lawfully off-site o Protect shoreline and waterway during demolition B. New Construction o Install new pilings/supports as required o Construct replacement dock matching approximate existing footprint o Install decking, framing, hardware, bumpers, and safety features C. Materials Materials shall be marine-grade and suitable for tidal waterfront conditions. D. Site Restoration Clean site and restore disturbed areas
