The Town of Red Hook is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the rehabilitation of Well No. 1. The well is located in the Red Hook Wellfield at the end of Willow Brook Lane in Red Hook, New York. The active wells at the Red Hook wellfield consists of two 6-inch diameter sand and gravel screened wells, which were installed in 1984. The wells are approximately 50 feet apart and are located in a fenced area adjacent to the Wellhouse Building (refer to the attached site plan). Well No. 1 is approximately 79 feet deep with a 10-foot screened length (refer to the attached well log). Questions or clarifications to the Bid Specifications must be made in writing to the Town Clerk at least ten (10) days prior to the bid opening. The work consists of rehabilitating the Town Water District No. 1's existing Well No. 1, including television inspection. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or approved surety bond in the sum of 5% of the amount bid. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the NYS Department of Labor under the provisions of New York State Labor Law, as amended, apply to this project. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and re-advertise.
