The City of Calgary requires a qualified engineering consulting firm to provide multi-disciplinary engineering consulting services for the water loss remediation project at Bowness Park Lagoon. The project scope includes Phase 1 Pre-design, which involves document review, data compilation, site reconnaissance, mapping, geotechnical and hydrological assessments, and Phase 2 Preliminary Design, which covers design options, landscape rehabilitation plans, and environmental and regulatory approvals. The RFP is intended to secure consulting services exclusively for these two phases. The overall objective is to investigate the lagoon’s water system, propose a location for a new lagoon boat ramp, and identify solutions to reduce water loss from the lagoon’s bed, stabilizing water levels to ensure safe and sustainable summer boating activities and winter operations for public skating and maintenance. Award under this RFP will be for Phase 1 and Phase 2 only, subject to approval after each Phase. Additional project phases are anticipated but currently unfunded and contingent upon budget approvals.
